Overview Gaziantep is the largest trade and industrial center in the west of Southeastern Turkey. Culturally and socio-economically, it is the most developed city in the region. The University of Gaziantep was founded as a state university in 27 June 1987, but higher education on campus began as early as 1973 when the institute was an extention campus of the Middle East Technical University. The main campus is located at Gaziantep with its extention campuses situated in the neighbouring cities and districts of Naci Topçuoğlu Vocational School, Oğuzeli, Nizip, İslahiye, Nurdağı and Araban .
Objectives The University of Gaziantep has always tried to train its students as enlightened, research-minded, scientifically-oriented graduates of good character. The main objectives of the University are:
· - Cultural, scientific, technical, medical and vocational education and training,
· - Fundamental and applied research,
· - Development of perspectives with respect to social issues, responsibilities and ethics,
· - Technical, scientific and cultural exchanges with similar institutions at national and international levels,
· - Professional adaptation to our rapidly changing society and the world in general, with particular attention to European Higher Education Area,
· - Contribution to the development of Turkey.
Administration University of Gaziantep is a state university institution subject to the same laws as those governing other universities in Turkey. It is supported mainly by state funds allocated by the Turkish Parliament. The administration of the University is implemented according to the Law on Higher Education. The formal head of the University is the Rector. The Rector implements the resolutions of the governing bodies of higher education, review and decide on the proposals of university boards and ensure coordination among organizations attached to the university. The University Senate, is the chief academic body at the university level and responsible for coordinating the academic activities of the University.
Assocations & Accreditation The University of Gaziantep is an individual full member of European University Association. An Erasmus Pilot Project for student exchange was run in the academic year of 2003-2004. The University was awarded an Erasmus University Charter by the European Commission for the period of 2004/2005-2006/2007 and DS Label for the period of 2005/2006-2007/2008.
Avrasya Genclik Gelisim Dernegi (Youth Eurasia) is an association established that carries out studies on adults and youth in the fields of environment, sport, art, ecology, social-cultural issues, youth rights, active citizenship, social inclusion, and soft skills development for establishing solidarity, cooperation and integration on societies. The target group includes marginal groups, migrants, unemployed individuals (NEET), students, adults, and young people with fewer opportunities to ensure their active participation in civil society activities. The association cooperation with universities, schools, municipalities, and public bodies in the local network. Avrasya Genclik Gelisim Dernegi leaves remarkable positive effects on people with fewer opportunities, the organization has sent more than 250 individuals (youth and adults) to abroad projects to boost their skills and provide them with life- changing experiences. Most of these individuals were people with fewer opportunities. One of the aims of the organization is to leave a positive impact on society and become a positive change-maker by combining youth and adult work from different backgrounds with different skills. For this reason, our motto is "We Care" and we are at the point where the right people gather for the right projects to make real positive changes.
European Social Innovation Institute is an association based on the principles of cooperation, integration, environment protection, solidarity, humanity and universal human values and promotes an environment in which the community will be able to create, think, realize their ideas and build positions and reactions on important issues. Developing activities in the rural community as art, sport and culture, also dedicated to the successful implementation and participation of European projects to bring the youth and senior Europe closer. We encourage youth and adult to involve in European projects such as to strength civic engagement , to support their life-learning process, education and employment. Moreover, we support EU Youth Goals and European strategies, we foster intercultural dialogue for more inclusive society.
Genista research foundation has been operating as an NGO since 2002 and during these past years we have managed as applicant and coordinator 34 approved projects, as partner in 156 approved projects and project writer and project manager for other organizations in 33 approved projects.
Genista foundation is also a Registered centre of Informal Education with the Malta Qualifications council providing training on organic farming, media, communication, EU affairs and intercultural dialogue working both in Malta and in various other EU and Non EU countries, coordinating and provding training in Palestine, Turkey, Slovakia, Poland, Tunisia, Italy, Norway, France, etc.
For 4 years we where also the local contact point and manager of Europe Direct network, with 500 offices around the EU and members of the EU communciation policy development.
WYŻSZA SZKOŁA BIZNESU I NAUK O ZDROWIU (WSBINOZ) is the first non-public higher education institution in central Poland that offers health-allied and medical-allied studies as well as law, psychology, criminology and pedagogy faculties. The world class school facility and an outstanding training atmosphere promoted by highly competent and most distinguished specialist, practitioners and academic teachers guarantee the unique and ambitious curriculum, theoretical knowledge and practical skills so desired in professional life. Young adults are taught how to take advantage of the acquired skills and knowledge as well as to keep on developing personal abilities and become professionally successful. WSBINOZ plays an important role on local educational market in terms of organization of additional thematic courses for disadvantaged groups. Its intention is to cooperate with local, regional and national authorities in order to provide thematic workshops and seminars as well as to attract target groups.
